Terms of service
The short version. Pay for what you use. Don't use GetSigning for anything illegal. You own your documents and can take them with you at any time. We'll keep the service running properly, but we can't promise a document will be legally effective - that depends on the document and the law that applies to it, and you should take your own advice.
The short version has no legal effect. The clauses below are what count.
1. Who we are
GetSigning is a service operated by Goggle Software Ltd. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Goggle Software Ltd, and "you" means the person or organisation with a GetSigning account.

By creating an account you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and have authority to enter into these terms, including on behalf of any organisation you name when registering.
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything done through your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to it.
- Account details must be accurate. If you invite colleagues, you are responsible for their use of the service.
- One person may not share a single login. If more than one person needs access, add them as users on a plan that allows it.
3. What GetSigning does
GetSigning lets you upload a document, place fields on it, send it to named people for electronic signature, and receive a completed PDF with a signature certificate and audit trail.
We provide the tooling. We do not review, approve or advise on the documents you send, and we are not a party to any agreement you form using the service.
4. Signatures and legal effect
Please read this section carefully. It sets out the single most important limit on what we can promise.
- Electronic signatures are recognised under English law, including by section 7 of the Electronic Communications Act 2000 and the UK eIDAS Regulation. Whether any particular document is validly executed depends on the document, the parties, and the law that applies to it.
- GetSigning produces a simple electronic signature supported by evidence of identity and intent - control of an email address, a private single-use link, recorded IP address, device information and a tamper-evident audit trail. It is not an advanced or qualified electronic signature as defined in UK eIDAS, and we do not act as a qualified trust service provider.
- Certain documents carry additional formalities that our service does not satisfy on its own. These include wills, lasting powers of attorney, deeds requiring a physically present witness, and some documents lodged with HM Land Registry. It is your responsibility to know what your document requires.
- We cannot and do not warrant that any document signed using GetSigning will be legally valid, binding or enforceable. You are responsible for the content of your documents and for taking legal advice where it matters.
- The signature certificate and audit trail are records of what our systems observed. They are evidence, and we have designed them to be strong evidence, but they are not a guarantee of the identity of any signer.
5. Your content
- You keep all rights in the documents and data you upload. We claim no ownership of them.
- You grant us a limited licence to store, process, convert and transmit your documents strictly so that we can provide the service to you - for example converting a Word file to PDF, placing signatures onto it, and emailing the result to the parties.
- We do not read your documents, use them to train anything, sell them, or disclose them to anyone except as needed to run the service or as required by law.
- You confirm that you have the right to upload each document and to send it to the people you name, and that doing so does not infringe anyone's rights.
- You can download your completed documents at any time while your account is open. We recommend you keep your own copies - completed documents are emailed to you at the time and those copies remain yours regardless of your account status.
6. Acceptable use
You must not use GetSigning to:
- break any law, or help anyone else to;
- send documents you have no right to send, or impersonate anyone;
- obtain a signature by deception, or alter a document after it has been signed;
- send bulk unsolicited email, or use the service as a mailing platform;
- upload malware, or attempt to probe, overload or circumvent the security of the service;
- reverse engineer the service, or resell access to it without our written agreement.
We may remove content or suspend an account that breaches this section. Where a suspension is not urgent we will contact you first.
7. Plans, credits and payment
- Prices are shown on our website and exclude VAT, which is added where applicable.
- GetSigning is priced per document. There is no subscription, no minimum term and no per-user charge. The price per document is shown on our website and in your account.
- Credits are bought in advance, are not time-limited, and are consumed one per document sent. One document may be sent to any number of parties.
- A document consumes allowance when you send it, not when it is signed. Withdrawing a document does not return the allowance.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never receive or store your card details.
- If a payment fails we may retry it and will tell you. Credits are only added once payment clears. Documents already signed stay available to download.
- We may change our price on 30 days' notice. Credits you have already bought are unaffected - they are yours at the price you paid.
8. Cancelling
- There is nothing to cancel - you buy credits when you need them and stop whenever you like. Unused credits stay on your account.
- Your documents and audit trails stay accessible whether or not you buy anything further.
- If you want your account and its data deleted entirely, email us and we will do it. Deletion is permanent - export anything you want to keep first. We may retain records we are legally required to keep, such as invoices.
- If you are a consumer rather than a business, you have a statutory right to cancel a purchase of credits within 14 days. By using a credit in that period you agree we may begin supplying immediately, and you accept that you lose the right to cancel in respect of credits already used. Unused credits are refundable within 14 days of purchase.
9. Availability and support
- We work to keep GetSigning available and correct, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may take it down for maintenance, and will give notice where we reasonably can.
- Support is provided through the ticket system inside the service, at Support during UK business hours, and aim to reply within one working day.
- We may change or improve features. We will not remove a feature you materially depend on without reasonable notice.
10. Data protection
- For your account details we are the data controller. For the documents you upload and the personal data of the people you send them to, we act as your data processor.
- Each of us will comply with UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under registration number ZA919631.
- Data protection enquiries, including data subject requests, should be sent to dpo@gogglesoftware.co.uk.
- We process personal data only on your documented instructions, keep it confidential, apply appropriate security, and assist you with data subject requests and breach notification.
- We use sub-processors - currently Postmark for email delivery and Stripe for payments - and remain responsible for their performance. We will tell you before adding a new one.
- As the controller of the personal data in your documents, you are responsible for having a lawful basis for sending them, for telling the people you send to how their data will be used, and for the accuracy of what you upload.
- Our privacy notice explains what we collect, why, and for how long. It forms part of these terms.
11. Our intellectual property
The GetSigning software, design and branding belong to us. These terms give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while your account is active, and nothing more.
12. Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
- Subject to that, our total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, and (b) £100.
- We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of anticipated savings, loss of goodwill, or any indirect or consequential loss.
- We are not liable for any loss arising from a document being held invalid, unenforceable or improperly executed, or from a signature being disputed or repudiated.
- We are not liable for loss caused by your own failure to keep copies of your completed documents, or by you giving your login details to someone else.
- If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.
13. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is being used unlawfully, or where payment remains outstanding after we have contacted you. Where possible we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right. On closure you may export your data for 30 days unless we are legally required to act otherwise.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For minor changes we will update this page and the date at the top. For changes that materially affect your rights we will email you at least 30 days beforehand. Continuing to use GetSigning after a change takes effect means you accept it.
15. General
- These terms, together with the privacy notice, are the entire agreement between us.
- If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
- Not enforcing a right straight away doesn't mean we've given it up.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. We may transfer ours on notice, for example if the business is sold.
- Nobody other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
16. Notices
We will contact you by email at the address on your account, or by a notice inside the service. It is your responsibility to keep that address current. You can contact us by email at hello@gogglesoftware.co.uk or by post at the address in clause 1.
An email notice is treated as received on the day it is sent, unless sent outside working hours, in which case it is treated as received on the next working day.
17. Events outside our control
We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by something outside our reasonable control, including failure of internet or hosting infrastructure, outages at our payment or email providers, cyber attack, fire, flood, industrial action, or an act of government. If such an event lasts more than 30 days, either of us may end this agreement without penalty and we will refund any unused credits.
18. Complaints and disputes
If something has gone wrong, raise a support ticket in the service first: sign in and click Support. We aim to acknowledge a complaint within one working day and resolve it within ten.
If we cannot resolve it between us, we both agree to consider mediation before starting court proceedings. Nothing in this clause prevents either of us from applying to court for an urgent remedy, and it does not affect your statutory rights.
19. Contacting us
For anything to do with your account or the service, raise a support ticket: sign in and click Support. That is the only support channel we operate. It keeps everything on one thread, attached to your account, so we can see your documents and billing without asking you to explain them.
